Company description::
(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 23, 2004) Lexington, MA -- BioDefense Corporation has received the first orders for its new MailDefender™ from the United Nations, FEMA, U.S. Attorney’s Office and Attorney’s General Office.

Designed for where mail first enters buildings and businesses, MailDefender has been proven to effectively decontaminate deadly and harmful bio-contaminants and certain chemicals, including anthrax, ricin, smallpox, plague, e-Coli, influenza, HIV and botulism.

“Our first orders from these highly regarded organizations show s the unique viability of the MailDefender, as well as the exciting future of the BioDefense Corporation,” according to Michael Y. Lu, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and the founder of the company.

A team of experts at BioDefense Corporation has developed what is now the most advanced and affordable solution for protecting people and businesses from the threat and devastation from mail carrying biohazards.

“When used at the point where mail enters a building, or used to respond to a bio-hazard threat, our technology will effectively help government, businesses and individuals defend themselves against dangerous bio-contaminants,” Michael Lu said.

A Brush With Fate On September 11, 2001. A Call To Action.

Michael Lu and Jonathan Morrone, Director, Senior Vice President of BioDefense Corporation, narrowly missed a fate at the World Trade Center on September 11. Both were scheduled to be in the North Tower for a meeting at the time when the terrorists crashed American Airlines flight 11 into the tower. By virtue of last minute complications with their schedules and traveling arrangements, they were not in the building. The two people they were to meet with perished in the attack.

The September 11 attacks and the deadly anthrax attacks during the fall of 2001, motivated them to play an active role in the fight against terrorism. Michael Lu believed that he could use his engineering background to create instruments that protect people from harmful biological agents and help provide peace of mind.
