Company description::
Headline
Twenty- four years ago, Jeran Designs, notable Hollywood based designers for America’s A list celebrities conceived of creating one of the worlds glamorous gowns which would one day be auctioned off with all proceeds going towards Aids awareness charities around the world. The opening bid is set at $1 million dollars and it is expected to raise $100 million dollars worldwide to benefit AIDS awareness.

To date, a plethora of over 340 of the Worlds most influential and glamorous Women have donated their signatures, to be hand-beaded onto a striking black velvet floor length couture gown. Stars who have contributed their signatures include Katharine Hepburn, Barbara Streisand, Sharon Stone, Bette Davis, Jane Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg, Sophia Loren, and Mother Teresa

The Gown was premiered on the 13th March at The Television Academy’s TV cares 2004 Annual Ribbon of Hope Awards, where the designers were honoured for their work. The event was hosted by Angela Lansbury, who has also supplied her signature to the gown project.

Tyrone Murphy, of Classic Media Entertainments has produced a documentary that features footage of the making of the gown, the unveiling ceremony, as well as interviews with some of the A list celebrities who supported the gown project.

The Classic Media Entertainment documentary was directed by Annelie Wilder and T Silano whose combined credits include, Apollo 13, Mrs. Doubtfire, Home Alone, Home Alone 2 and IceMaker, which will be released in July of 2004.

Classic Media Entertainments are currently in negotiations with several networks in America and expects similar interest from television companies in Africa. There are plans for a casting call for a model in twelve countries around the world to wear the gown at a special unveiling in each country.

Tyrone, who returned from Hollywood, explained “The Interest in America and Europe was phenomenal as the public are fascinated by the glamorous world of show business; I expect this interest to be emulated in countries throughout the world. Although the documentary gives an insight into the incredible amount of work that went into the making of the gown, people will not fully be able to appreciate it until it is unveiled during the tour.”
